NBN
participants will include both boys and
girls between the ages of 6 and 18 years
old.
Our
intent is to have both a boys and a
girls league, however, if we don’t have
enough signed up to do a separate girls
league, the league will be co-ed. The
age group that your child will be
eligible to play in for the SPRING
league is based on his or her age as of
March
15th. The age group that your
child will be eligible to play in for
the FALL league is based on his or her
age as of August 15th. If you as a parent
would like to request that your child
play up one level and as long as
NBN feels that it’s in the best interest
of that player, we will try our best to
accommodate your request.
However,
for obvious reasons we will NOT
allow an older child to play down in
age.
All kids
that sign up will be required to
participate in a pre-determined skills
day, which will be held prior to the
start of the season.
At skills day, the kids will be run
through a variety of fundamental drills,
which will allow each coach the
opportunity to assess each kids skill
level.
Once all
players have been rated, the coach’s
ratings will be combined to come up with
an overall skills rating.
NBN teams will be formed by an
official “draft” process which will
allow the coaches to pick their teams in
order by skill level which will in turn
allow those teams to be split as even as
possible. This process is done for each
age group.
No group or coach may form
his/her own team to compete in this
league
